Language Arts HW:
Each Friday students receive a new batch of 5 vocabulary words and 10 spelling words so that they have a full week to do homework assignment. ALL HW needs to be in their homework spiral (which was provided for them). If they prefer to type it can be stapled into the spiral.
A hard copy of the list is given once to each student. If it is lost it is the students responsibility to copy the words from the whiteboard (which is posted the entire week). If a student is absent on a Friday they can ask for a copy when they return.
Every week-
Mondays: define 5 vocabulary words
Tuesdays: write spelling words 5 times each and break into syllables once
Wednesdays: use each of the 5 vocabulary words in a sentence and illustrate/draw a picture
Thursdays: study for Friday Quiz
Science:
Each Friday students receive one packet or one assignment for the entire week. It is also due the following Friday before the weekly quiz.
ALL homework for ALL classes is 1/2 credit if turned in one week from quiz. Students receive a zero is more than a week late. Although, extra credit is given if a student does any work for any class (including old work from my class) in either the Saturday Scholar Program, Study Center at lunch, or school library (after school 315-415p). There is also a category for other since some students go to places like Boys and Girls Club. An adult needs to sign this form.
